Serena is a little girl who’s bravely fighting a monster. She has a rare form of cancer in children called
neuroblastoma. She’s been undergoing chemotherapy but the only hope of defeating the monster lies in the hands of specialists and equipment found in the U.S. She needs our help to raise USD250,000.00 for her treatment.
Please read her story here. If you got a few bucks to spare, her ChipIn page is here.

We can also help by spreading the word.
The series on biodiversity will resume after this post.

What the mother needs is for a large media group to pick up the story and a non-profit to help fund her. No way the web alone can do this unless large blogs pick it up.

Hello Gary
Thank you for leaving a comment. Her story had been carried in 2 local newspapers. 256k is indeed a large sum of money and we share your trepidation that it’ll take forever if we rely on regular bloggers like us.
But I think it’s not needed all at once. Maybe we need only a reasonable amount to send her off and start her treatment.
We do hope to create a buzz that’ll be heard and carried by the popular bloggers.
BTW, It’s our impression that her father’s campaign isn’t well organized yet and we’re sure they will welcome suggestions that will help their daughter. You have a good idea there, please leave a comment at Serena’s blog. We’re not sure if they are watching comments in this post.
Thanks again.
This is a very sad story. :(. It is always tough when children are sick. However, I also hope TV picks up on this story. Mass media can always bring in donations for this type of thing.
Hopefully, they will. Only when this gets big will major agencies notice.
Thanks for giving Serena the attention she needs, TN. Collectively, we might be able to make a difference.
The link for donation didn’t work maybe it is from my browser,will check back later.
tynas last blog post..We are counting days now.
Hi!
@Fifty24SF
We sure hope so (make a difference). This blog’s tagline is “treasure nature for our future” and children are our future.
@Tyna
I checked and it works. The link takes us directly to PayPal. I’m on FireFox3.
In case it still won’t work for you, Serena’s blog has a ChipIn widget too.
Thanks.
That’s a sad story indeed. I’m hoping for all the best for Serena..
We do too. We hope her campaign is getting somewhere.
